Filmmaker Aaron Dennis and journalist Jacob Wheeler created a 7-part documentary web series entitled “The People and the Olive”, telling stories of hope and perseverance in the West Bank. These videos were created daily as they followed the Run Across Palestine in February 2012, an ultramarathon from Hebron to Jenin (129 miles over five days) to raise awareness about the struggles facing olive farmers in Palestine. These short videos have currently been taken down from the web during the launch of the feature length documentary (details below). Dennis and Wheeler have taken this footage to create a feature length documentary about the daily joys and struggles of Palestinian farmers and the American ultra marathoners who set out to bridge cultures and replant uprooted olive trees.
