Winter Solstice Training for the Run Across Palestine

How do you prepare to run 129 miles in 5 days across Palestine? It starts with training runs in the cold, for hours on end. In this short video, many of the runners for the upcoming Run Across Palestine spend all day during the Winter Solstice running across Traverse City, Michigan, strengthening their bodies and the bonds with their fellow runners.

The Run Across Palestine is a project of On The Ground, the non-profit organization that successfully completed the Run Across Ethiopia in January of 2011, raising over $200,000 to build schools in Ethiopia. The goal of this new run is to raise money for the olive farmers of the West Bank, to help them plant olive trees and to support scholarships for their children. Filmmaker Aaron Dennis and journalist Jacob Wheeler will be teaming up and following the Run Across Palestine, to produce a 7-part documentary web series entitled “The People and the Olive.” Check out their Kickstarter campaign for more info and ways you can help: kck.st/tgYi9x
