OUR PROJECTS
We accomplish our mission by partnering with other nonprofits, progressive businesses, activists, philanthropists, and (most importantly) local communities. Together we are creating lasting infrastructure, built on a foundation of gender and social equality, environmental sustainability, and economic security.
GROWING GENDER EQUITY IN CONGO
Expanding education, gender equity, and specialty coffee in Congo
FIELDSCHOOLS IN CHIAPAS
Spreading new, organic agricultural practices via community training.
PREVIOUS SUCCESSES
Our past projects with farming communities in developing regions have included the following:
EDUCATION ACCESS IN ETHIOPIA
Hase Gola communities partnering with OTG have constructed four schools, which benefit as many as 4,200 students. Additional collaborative efforts in Ethiopia have resulted in a new library, latrines, and a school lunch program.
REBUILDING NICARAGUA COFFEE FIELDS
Las Diosas, by partnering with OTG, has planted more than 70,000 seedlings in their San Pedro coffee nursery. They've also created 1,800 liters of organic fertilizer. In addition, OTG supported Las Diosas following a sever 2014 earthquake.
CELEBRATING CULTURE THROUGH MUSIC
Through strong ties to coffee communities in several countries, OTG's Musical Ambassador Program has created compelling media content and provided financial and material support to vital community arts centers.
EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Using lessons learned by partnering with coffee communities, OTG helped create microloans for female entrepreneurs, rebuilt a women's center and replanted olive trees throughout Palestine’s West Bank.
