2025 Annual Report
January 1 – December 31, 2025
A full year of programming in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Bolivia, with letters from the board and from the founder of the Cooperative Lending Program, and complete revenue and disbursement figures.
- Largest Gender Equity cohort yet: 250 women farmers and their husbands
- 43 students — all orphans — supported through a full school year
- The $200,000 Cooperative Lending Program brought under OTG management

Emergency response
When crisis hits, we are already there
Because we work through cooperatives our partners already trust, relief moves in days rather than months.
2020
COVID-19
45 handwashing stations delivered to the Sopacdi, Muungano and Amka cooperatives — a $3,000 rapid deployment that protected thousands of farmers and washing-station workers.
2021
Mt. Nyiragongo eruption
More than 500 meals a day served to evacuees in Minova, with On the Ground stationed at the government's designated evacuation point.
2023
Lake Kivu flash floods
A $25,000 emergency response after the May 2023 floods, including a summer program for more than 200 orphaned children with meals, clothing, school uniforms and access to mental health support.
2026
Ebola in the Eastern DRC
$10,000 secured from the Cooperative Coffees Emergency Fund for handwashing stations, disinfectant, masks, thermometers, posters and precaution training across 15 schools, 10 coffee washing stations and 10 churches — support an estimated 300,000 people are benefiting from.

2005–2015
Chiapas Water Project
13 water systems built with the Maya Vinic coffee cooperative, giving more than 5,000 people access to clean water.

Run Across Ethiopia
More than $200,000 raised; four schools with gendered latrines and a library built, serving 1,500+ students a year — all still operating today.

Run Across Palestine
5,000 olive tree saplings planted, micro-loans for 14 women farmers, university scholarships, and a documentary screened globally.

Run Across Congo
Seed funding for the DRC Gender Equity Program, emergency supplies for 93 survivors of sexual assault, support for the widows of slain rangers, and the launch of the Saveur du Kivu coffee competition.

La roya coffee rust response for the 220 women farmers of Las Diosas Cooperative: 65,000+ seedlings and a micro-loan program.

DRC Landmine Victims Support
Landmine victims identified throughout the Minova region and victim associations built so they could receive support from the Polus Center.
2018–2024
Chiapas Farmer Field School
298 farmers trained in climate-adaptive agroforestry with the Maya Vinic cooperative.
